Highlights from Di & Lyndon's Wedding | St Peter's Conisbrough | Conisbrough Castle | The Hilton, Sheffield

I was delighted to be asked to shoot Lyndon & Di's wedding as 7 years earlier i shot his sister Carly's Wedding, so was really pleased to have the honour of capturing Lyndon's day too and to see the family again.

It was a cold day in Sheffield, but the light was good. Di & Lyndon were both very relaxed on the day, and surrounded by friends and family at the hotel where they both got ready. It was A very relaxed atmosphere which always makes for great pictures, especially candid / documentary style shots and there's a few great candid moments.

The light at the church was bright sunshine, which made for some lovely backlit pictures with deep blue skies, and the backlight sets off the shot of the guys framed in the church door and Di's walk up towards the church entrance. St Peter's is a beautiful church, with a stunning, colourful stained glass window above the alter, which made for a lovely feature image.

Between the church and reception venue we visited the nearby Conisbrough Castle for a few shots, and the light didn't dissapoint! Again, lovely low evening sunlight created long shadows and a warm glow in some of the shots with the sun hitting the castle walls, this coupled with a deep blue sky and some whispy cloud made for some stunning wide scenic shots of Lyndon & Di in the grounds. We found a few great spots for pictures and a couple of great little nooks, cracks and caves in the walls to create some great photographs. I must thank and commend Di's patience and ability to withstand the cold, as it wasn't warm at all!

I was really pleased to hook up with, and be assisted by my old Sheffield UNI buddy SImon Greatbatch, a true friend and excellent fellow photographer, who faithfully carried my kit around and handled the remote off camera flash & softbox duties excellently! - Thanks Simon.

The photography into the evening continued and when the snow came it was my cue to drag out the unsuspecting Bride & Groom to the Canalside at Victoria Quays, and our efforts were blessed with the stunning & colourful snowy shot (Below) we achieved in the space of a few minutes.

Congratulations Lyndon & Di, I hope you love the pictures as much as i did capturing your day for you! Best wishes, Steven
