Steven Bradshaw Photography - FAQs
Q: Do you belong to any professional photography organisations?
A: Definitely! I'm a proud Licentiate member of both the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers (SWPP). Plus, I'm a Qualified Award-Winning Photographer with the Guild of Photographers. These memberships show my commitment to high standards and ongoing learning.
Q: How long have you been capturing those magical wedding moments?
A: I've been a full-time dedicated wedding photographer since 2003, with over 800 weddings under my belt! Even before that, I honed my skills as a full-time press photographer – perfect training for those once-in-a-lifetime shots.
Q: Are you a one-person show, and will it definitely be YOU taking our photos?
A: 100%, I'm your dedicated photographer from start to finish! Want that extra level of coverage and creativity? Some packages include a fully qualified, insured, and trusted second photographer. In the super unlikely event I face an unforeseen circumstance, a broken leg or illness, I'm part of a network of local backup pros ready to step in (with a similar style, of course!). No worries - either way, a full refund is always guaranteed.
Q: Do you do posed shots, or is it all about the candid stuff?
A: I'm all about capturing those genuine moments, but don't worry – I won't leave you hanging on the group photo front! We'll zip through those must-have family shots efficiently so you can get back to the party. Want more extensive coverage? That's cool too - just let me know!
Q: Real talk: How many photos are we ACTUALLY getting?
A: No limits here! If the moments are happening, I'm snapping. With my all-day package, expect a minimum of 500 awesome shots. Some photographers inflate their numbers with duplicates, but I keep it real. Think of it as quality over quantity.
Q: Do I get some say in the editing style?
A: While I've got my signature look, your photos should feel like YOU. All images get carefully edited (think perfect lighting, vibrant colors, the works!). Any specific retouching requests? We can chat, though extra-fancy Photoshop work might have a small additional cost.
A: Absolutely! You'll get a high-res download of all your edited images, ready to rock those albums, prints, and giant canvases. You've got the copyright to do your thing.
Q: Do you scout out the venue beforehand?
A: Usually, I do! Especially if it's a new-to-me location. Want to make it even more fun? Let's add a pre-wedding shoot at your venue – ease those camera nerves and we can finalize those day-of details.
Q: What about travel…any hidden fees?
A: Most times, mileage is on me. Anything over 40 miles from my base (DE22) might have a small extra cost, but we'll be transparent about it upfront.
Q: Can you handle a giant wedding? Do you bring backup?
A: I like to fly solo for that discreet, candid vibe. But hey, if your bash is huge, a trusty second shooter can be arranged (extra cost, of course).
Q: Gear talk – whatcha got?
A: I invest in top-of-the-line Canon mirrorless cameras with dual card slots for secure in-camera backups. Why? Because non-pro equipment and consumer spec cameras with single card slots put your photos at risk – think lost memories if a card fails! Plus, I always carry backup pro cameras. Your wedding moments deserve the most reliable gear and a photographer who takes zero chances. - Plus, I pack fast lenses – essential for those dimly-lit churches and winter weddings! No matter the situation, I'm equipped to capture those beautiful moments without restriction or struggle with inferior gear.
Q: Insurance – the boring but important stuff?
A: Covered! I've got public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Need proof for your venue? Just ask!
Q: Okay, I'm convinced. How do I book you?
A: Let's grab a coffee (or hop on a video call!) and chat about your dream day. You get a personalized quote, and if we vibe, a simple online form and retainer secure your date. Warning: I book up fast!
